How to Use the Bulk UUID Generator

    1. Select UUID Version: Choose between UUID v4 (cryptographically random) or UUID v7 (timestamp-ordered, optimized for database B-Trees).
    2. Choose Batch Quantity: Generate 1, 10, 50, or up to 500 identifiers with a single click.
    3. Format to Your Project Standard: Toggle uppercase casing, strip hyphens for clean 32-character hashes, or wrap in braces ({...}) for Windows GUID registries.
    4. Copy or Export: Copy individual UUIDs, copy the entire list to your clipboard, or download directly as a .txt or .json array.

UUID v4 vs. UUID v7: Which Version Should You Use?

In 2024, the IETF ratified RFC 9562, introducing UUID version 7 to solve the primary architectural drawback of UUID v4 in databases:

    • UUID v4 (Random): Ideal for security tokens, distributed request tracking, session IDs, and scenarios where record creation timestamps must remain obscured.
    • UUID v7 (Time-Ordered): Embeds an epoch millisecond timestamp into the first 48 bits. This ensures sequential sorting, preventing severe index page fragmentation in PostgreSQL, MySQL InnoDB, and SQLite.
    • Zero Collision Risk: Both specifications allocate enough entropy that generating duplicate values across distributed clusters is statistically zero.

    Guaranteed Client-Side Cryptographic Randomness

    • Web Cryptography Engine: Random entropy is drawn directly from the browser's native CSPRNG (crypto.getRandomValues), never from predictable Math.random().
    • Zero Network Calls: Identifiers are generated locally on your machine. No generated keys, sessions, or seeds are ever transmitted across the internet.
